    there’s a commotion. it seems to be a protest of sorts, something she’s as yet unfamiliar with —– she looks to the person closest to her, determines they are likely not male, and says, “for what purpose do these people gather?”

          ‘ to rally. ’ her answer is simple, fleeting. she’s at the edge of the crowd, poised as if to escape - there had been talk of police intervention, and her nose still hasn’t fully healed from the last time. ‘ - for the unions, against the men who would undermine the sacred will of the people. ’ 

          she passes a glance over the other woman, tone gaining an almost conspiratorial lilt. ‘ careful like that. some might find your appearance rather…seditious. ’
